It is advisable that teachers and supervisors of younger students in the karate dojo undergo a CRB disclosure check.

The website Editor is a registered CRB evidence checker for the IJKA, via an Umbrella Body registered with the UK Criminal Records Bureau and, can arrange CRB disclosure checks for any IJKA instructor who is a citizen of the United Kingdom.

Karate instructors are classified as ‘Unpaid Volunteers’ and, the fee for an Enhanced CRB check for this category is currently £16.50 (December 2009).
